Welcome to Filipina Chef!
I’m excited to share my culture and passion for cooking through my food recipes. I started FILIPINA CHEF as a way to collect and share Filipino recipes between my family and friends.
My cooking journey began at a very young age, with my family teaching me how to cook various foods. I was always in the kitchen, eager to cook alongside my parents, grandparents, and extended family. That’s where my passion for cooking really took off.
I learned from a young age that food is a way to spend time with your family, whether that means working together to create a dish or getting everyone to sit around a table and chat. Cooking is an act of love, and it has always been at the forefront of my heart.
While I’ve learned tons of family recipes for Filipina food, including Chicken Adobo, Pancit, Paksiw, Menudo, Mechado, and Afritada, to name a few, I love cooking a little bit of everything. You’ll find some Italian and Mexican inspiration woven throughout my recipes because I love to try new things!
Throughout my years of experimenting, I discovered so many new textures, ingredients, and flavors. It was impossible not to become completely obsessed with food. Sometimes I even find my mind full of ideas for new dishes or ways to make an existing recipe better.
My goal with Filipina Chef is to help other families find delicious, tasty food to serve in their homes without having to spend a ton of money to do so.
